One of the ways you can encourage healthy eating with your children, is by getting them involved in the cooking. Start as soon as they can hold a spoon!! Just get them to stir the mix, before they graduate to pouring in ingredients, and then measuring them out…

They will be so proud of themselves.

Here is an easy peasy recipe that they can stir up. When she was a wee little thing, Bailey was enlisted in the kitchen, and was a big help with the stirring,  even helping drop dollops of mix onto the baking tray!

Here’s the recipe to get cooking with your kids!

Muesli cookies.

75g organic butter

100g coconut oil

100g quinoa flakes

100g GF oats (or swap for millet puffs if oats are off limits)

1 Tbsp chia seeds

20g LSA

30g Currants

Good pinch cinnamon

2 tsp baking powder

50g tapioca flour

50g rice flour

100g buckwheat flour

3 TBsp honey

1 TBsp coconut nectar

1 tsp organic vanilla extract.

Preheat oven to 180C. Line 2x baking trays.

Melt butter & coconut oil. Add honey, agave syrup, and vanilla.

Mix all dry stuff together. Add wet ingredients. STIR (toddlers job!!)

Spoon bite size dollops onto tray, with a little room between them.

Bake 15mins, til golden. Cool on wire rack.

Munch them up for morning tea!
